Void Bastards is a first person shooter strategy, survival and horror game developed by Humble Bundle. It was initially available only for computers and Xbox One, but Void Bastards is now playable on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. The title is heavily inspired and has great references to the BioShock and System Shock 2 series.
The plot is quite simple: create, kill, explore ships, and survive. The delivery will allow you to go through the adventure with different protagonists since, every time you die, a new one appears. Each one has small differences in their abilities, such as the amount and type of resources they use or the agility in certain movements.

By downloading Void Bastards we will enter a story set in space, more precisely in Sargasso Nebula. Our protagonists will be prisoners of the Void Ark whom we must guide between abandoned ships in order to survive. To achieve this we will get a variety of resources, weapons, supplies and tools that we must combine to make creations that help us in our mission. The story mode has about 15-20 hours of gameplay, but the possibilities offered by the title are endless as each map regenerates automatically with different conditions.

The player will play protagonists who will board abandoned ships. As we said, each one is generated randomly and automatically. This presents one of the advantages of Void Bastards as it allows us to play different games in unexpected ways. We can find ships without energy, some with many resources, others with nothing to find or others with a greater or lesser number of enemies. Each one will demand different strategies from us and we will be able to organize the path we want to advance in history.
The mechanics of the game are somewhat sophisticated and can be complex or difficult to get used to at first. Every decision you make affects other events, so for example, if you get too greedy, loot a lot of resources, and then upgrade your weapons, the game will spawn a large number of opponents in a small place and there is a high probability of get eliminated. Basically, the mechanics of the title consist of a procedurally generated structure, where the player enters other ships that appear in Sargasso Nebula, collects material to repair his ship, The Void Ark, and fights against enemies.

As we mentioned before, one of the characteristics that differentiates the Hundle Bundle proposal from other games and applications is that if the prisoner the user plays with is eliminated, it is replaced by another character. It is worth clarifying that if this happens, progress or progress in discoveries or levels is not lost, the only thing that we will not have more will be resources such as food or ammunition.

The mobility of the controls and movement of our main character may be somewhat crude. We do not have stealth mechanics that could be very useful in some missions and armed confrontations are a bit slow. Controlling the sight is also possible to present some drawbacks, however it can be configured in the options menu.

The graphics of Void Bastards is really nice and original. The delivery sets us as if we were inside a comic. The enemies have very interesting designs as well as the interiors of the ships. Although this can present some problems in the gameplay (especially when shooting and damaging enemies) it is one of the aspects that has attracted our attention the most and we believe that it is one of the reasons to buy Void Bastards.

The sci-fi survival product is a very fun proposition, maybe a little slow at first until we get the hang of what it's about. It is a good option to relax because its simple graphics make everything easy and accessible so you do not have to think much, but be careful because it is not as simple as it seems. In fact, you have to think a lot to advance the story. Especially when considering that the game conditions change constantly.
We should not always try the most well-known and popular titles, entering a world like the one proposed by Void Bastarda can give us a good dose of fun.
